Front Row Motorsports Heads to South Florida Looking to Win in the Sunshine State

Homestead-Miami Speedway Competition Notes

TEAM AND RACE NOTES:

Front Row Motorsports heads to South Beach and the Sunshine State of Florida this weekend as the Cup Series and CRAFTSMAN Truck Series travels to the Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend.

In the last six races, Layne Riggs has earned five Truck Series Top-5 finishes, including back-to-back wins at the Milwaukee Mile and the Bristol Motor Speedway. This will be Riggs' first visit to Homestead-Miami but has recent success on a mile-and-a-half track, finishing second at the Kansas Speedway in September. Riggs will be back in the Love's RV Stop Ford F-150, "Yellow Submarine".

The weekend will kick off on Friday, October 25th with practice and qualifying at 2:30 PM ET. The 134-lap event is scheduled for Saturday, October 26th at 12:00 PM ET. Fans can watch the action live on FS1 or listen in via the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM channel 90.

Michael McDowell and Todd Gilliland will look to bring home good finishes on the 1.5-mile circuit on the Cup Series side. Love's Travel Stops will once again be featured on the No. 34 Ford Mustang Dark Horse as McDowell will make his 14th career Cup Series start at the 1.5-mile oval. He has had two Top-10 finishes including a career-best, 6th-place in 2021.

With just three races remaining on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule, Gilliland and the No. 38 gener8tor team are focused on finishing strong and making a final push for the highest possible points position. Following the Cup Series second trip to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Gilliland sits 23rd in the Driver's Standings.

The NASCAR Cup Series track activity will begin Saturday, October 26th with practice and qualifying at 9:00 am ET on the NBC Sports app. The 400-mile race will be Sunday, October 27th at 2:30 pm ET. Fans can watch the action live on NBC or listen via the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM channel 90.

CUP SERIES COMPETITION NOTES:

No. 34 Love's Travel Stops Ford Mustang Dark Horse:

DRIVER MICHAEL MCDOWELL:

"Homestead always provides an exciting show for the fans. As a driver, there isn't really a preferred lane, so you have a lot of options and can run all around the track. We’ve raced well at the mile-and-a-half tracks, and I think Sunday we will have a good Love’s Travel Stops Ford Mustang Dark Horse."

CREW CHIEF TRAVIS PETERSON:

"Homestead is a great racetrack, multiple grooves and falloff make it a fun place to setup a car for. We are looking forward to getting there and improving our recent mile-and-a-half results."

No. 38 gener8tor Ford Mustang Dark Horse:

DRIVER TODD GILLILAND:

"Miami is a fun track. I have had some good runs there in the Truck Series, so I know I have what it takes to succeed, we just have to execute. We're almost to the off season and it's easy to get lazy, but there's still some good race left for us to have good finishes."

CREW CHIEF RYAN BERGENTY:

"There is still a lot to race for with only three tracks left on the schedule. Todd (Gilliland) and I don't want to leave anything on the table. We just have to execute and make the most of these remaining races."

TRUCK SERIES COMPETITION NOTES:

No. 38 Love's RV Stop Ford F-150:

DRIVER LAYNE RIGGS:

"I'm excited for Homestead. Our mile-and-a-half program has really improved, and we showed that with our second-place finish at Kansas. Dylan (Cappello), the road crew, and the whole shop have been putting in overtime on this truck, so I have a good feeling about this weekend regardless of it being my first time at Homestead."

CREW CHIEF DYLAN CAPPELLO:

"I have a good feeling about Homestead. We have really amped up our mile-and-a-half program, so I'm excited to see what speed we bring this weekend. We want to play "playoff spoiler", and I know Layne (Riggs) does too. Hopefully we can do it at Homestead."
