Gilliland Seeks 5th Consecutive Top-25 Finish in Atlanta

No. 38 House-Autry Ford Will Also Support Military Missions In Action

STATESVILLE, N.C. (8/30/12) – – David Gilliland has posted an average finish of 21.8 in the past five races and is seeking his fifth consecutive top-25 run as he takes the No. 38 House-Autry Ford to Atlanta Motor Speedway this Labor Day weekend.  Gilliland has three career top-25 finishes at Atlanta in ten career starts, including a career-best run of 13th.

House-Autry Mills is making their first foray into NASCAR this weekend as part of its 200th anniversary celebration.  Founded in 1812, House-Autry Mills is headquartered in Four Oaks, N.C. and manufactures breaders for chicken, pork, seafood and vegetables; hushpuppy, cornbread and biscuit mixes; and a line of sauces to complement America’s favorite baked and fried foods.

The No. 38 car will also feature a special decal on its decklid this weekend, showing support for Military Missions In Action (MMIA).  The organization was founded in January 2008 by a retiree of the United States Coast Guard with a commitment to assisting disabled veterans along with supporting active servicemen and women. More information on MMIA is available at www.MilitaryMissionsInAction.org .

David Gilliland on Atlanta

“We’ve had a nice streak of performances as of late. Last week, we worked hard to recover from a wreck and post our third top-20 in-a-row.  This team is firing on all cylinders right now, and Pat and I are working together better than ever before.  In the past month, we’ve shown speed on road courses, speedways and short-tracks.  I’m looking for a strong run in the No. 38 House-Autry Ford this weekend.”

“I’m happy to welcome House-Autry to the No. 38 team. The car looks great and having images of fried food on the quarter panels certainly makes it unique.  I appreciate being sponsored by a family company with a long heritage, like House-Autry.  My family consists of generations of racecar drivers, and now I get to have a sponsor that is celebrating generations of great taste. That’s pretty cool.”

“I’m always excited when I get to support the brave men and women who have served, and currently serve this great country.  I’m honored to have Military Missions In Action on our No. 38 House-Autry Ford this weekend.  They do a lot for veterans and have a strong dedication to serving those who have served.  I’d love to get a good run with them on the car this weekend.”
