David Gilliland, No. 38 ModSpace Ford
David Gilliland secured his best finish of 2012 on a non-restrictor plate track in Sunday’s Pennsylvania 400 at Pocono Raceway. Gilliland and his crew worked hard to keep to ModSpace Ford on the lead lap, a move that proved to be important as the driver of the No. 38 car made up several spots by skillfully dodging the carnage of a late-race wreck, before Sunday’s race was ultimately called due to rain.
David Gilliland on Pocono:
“Our team worked hard to stay on the lead lap. I saw everything happening in front of me when the wreck happening on the final restart and I really just acted on instinct and was able to inch by it. We have had some close calls this season that haven’t gone in our favor, so it’s nice that one went our way this weekend. The ModSpace Ford was fast and looked great. I’m glad we can bring it back to the shop in one piece.”
David Ragan, No. 34 Taco Bell Ford
David Ragan brought the No. 34 Taco Bell Ford home 28th in Sunday’s Pennsylvania 400 at Pocono Raceway.
David Ragan on Pocono:
“We played it a little too close on gas and ended up running out of fuel trying to lead a lap. It ended up putting us two laps down. I think we would have possibly been able to end up okay had the race stayed green, but mother nature didn’t play into our favor this weekend. We will look to rebound as we head to Watkins Glen.”
